McDonough farm to become holiday attraction

The Southern Belle Farm in McDonough will hold a family-festival Christmas festival in November and December.

Christmas on the Farm is a multi-week festival that offers many kid-friendly activities. Children who visit the farm on the weekend can ride attractions like Belle’s Barnstormer, the Reindeer Express, and the Giant Tunnel Slide. Other activities at the venue include scavenger hunts, riding pedal karts, and tetherball. Guests can make ornaments and visit the Gem Mine for an additional fee. People can also have a donut breakfast with Santa on December 9th and 16th.

The Southern Belle Farm is owned by the Carter family, after being purchased in 1938 by J. A. Carter. Tourists can visit the farm’s marketplace to browse products like jams, honey, and pickled produce. The farm is also home to Mimi’s Kitchen, a bakery that sells seasonal goods like fried pies and apple cider donuts. No pets are allowed on the property, and Backpacks are not permitted in the U-pick fields.

The holiday festival will be held from November 24th to December 17th. The farm is closed each Monday and Tuesday, and the fest will not be open on Thanksgiving Day. The cost to enjoy the venue’s weekend activities is $15.95 per person. Guests can pay $30.95 to have breakfast with Santa. Family-owned businesses hosting events like this may use Print shops to help advertise their seasonal festivals.
