Westrock makes two significant announcements

Several major changes have occurred at WestRock Company, with its headquarters in Norcross.

The first is that a new chief financial officer of Ingevity, a business of the company that deals in specialty chemicals, was named. John Fortson will join the company on Monday, October 12.

According to the chief executive officer of WestRock, Steve Voorhees, Fortson has been a CFO and treasurer, and demonstrates strong financial management and leadership that will help Ingevity as it becomes a publicly traded entity next year. Fortson previously was treasurer and CFO of AAR Corporation and held a number of leadership positions with Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Most recently, WestRock Company acquired SP Fiber Holdings, Inc., a company that makes Kraft and bag paper, container board, and newsprint from recycled products. This transaction will provide the company with mills in Newberg, Oregon and Dublin, Georgia for the production of these products for use in corrugated and consumer Packaging.

President of Paper Solutions at WestRock, Jim Porter, commented that service to customers should be improved as a result of this acquisition. He added that the two companies have proven themselves to be providers of quality and innovative products, so combining resources should enhance the companies’ ability to offer paper solutions for food service, corrugated packaging, and other markets.

Most likely, Westrock is turning to various Print companies to create informational materials that can be sent to customers apprising them of these important changes.
