An amount of $65,000 has been awarded to six local small businesses in the city of Norcross as part of the Small Business Grants of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
Craig Newton, mayor of Norcross, said those who have received grants this year embody the inclusive and culturally rich community Norcross has become. He added that these grant recipients all share a commitment to the economic and community development of the city. He hopes that these grants will help them to increase their bottom lines and grow their base of clients.
The businesses which received these awards are HNS Logistics, Silky Corp, The Local Peach, Fleecher Designs, Kiian Silver, and CNU Medical Institute.
CNU Medical Institute is a technical school that trains students to work in the medical field. Kiian Silver is a jeweler whose pieces are from India. Fleecher Designs is a full-service graphic design and branding studio committed to those whose work is doing good for the community. The Local Peach, which is one of the Institute’s clients, provides chef-inspired catering and meals.
Silky Corp has a large showroom that features high-end Indian fashion and provides alterations on-site. HNS Logistics is a supply chain and logistics company that provides import and export services for Korean businesses.
The grants these companies received from ARPA may be used for business-related operating expenses.
