Norcross to host unique events next month

Two special events will be taking place in Norcross in the next few days.

Events like this are often promoted throughout a town with Flyers, often printed by local Print shops.

The first event is one of the First Friday Concerts held in the Cultural Arts and Community Center, which take place on the first Friday of every month from October to April. Myles Brown will be the featured performer this month. He is a professional songwriter and elite-level electric guitarist who performs jazz and classical music.

The CAN-Do Food Drive will also be at the concert. Attendees of the concert should bring an individually packaged, single-serve food item, which will be delivered to the new food pantry located inside the Norcross Library. The concert will be this Friday, February 3 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, with doors opening at 6:00 pm. Reservations are required.

There will be a tour of the Norcross City Cemetery led by historian Gene Ramsay. Attendees will learn about the lives of the founders and builders of Norcross and the history of the town. The origin of the names of many of the streets will be discussed, as well as many well-known and unknown stories about the town related.

The tour will be this Sunday, February 5 at 2:00 pm. The cemetery is on Cemetery Street at the intersection of South Cemetery Street and Fairmount Drive.
