Mizuno USA, a sporting goods distributor headquartered in Norcross, is about to open its first retail store in the United States at The Battery Atlanta, a mixed-used complex adjacent to SunTrust Park.
The store will be known as the Mizuno Experience Center and will be 3,800 square feet in size. It will have a baseball/softball swing lab, which is a simulator for baseball and softball so customers can select from 125 Mizuno demo bats for practice in any Major-League baseball park, of which SunTrust Park is one. A golf/swing lab will provide a similar experience with golf clubs on 60 different simulated golf courses, while other offerings will include a wall for trying out baseball and softball gloves, a volleyball wall, and a running lab.
Becky Snider, General Manager of the Mizuno Experience Center, said that this will not be so much a retail store but an experience center, as customers will be able to try out various products, see how they are crafted, and examine the innovative features of the products before they make their purchases.
Mizuno is the official Baseball Gear Partner of the Atlanta Braves and will also have a small retail element in the new baseball park. This will be designed to sell products and offer Flyers with more information behind the craftsmanship and unique features.
The Mizuno Experience Center will open to the public tomorrow, April 14, at 11:00 am.
