Creative Community Services, a non-profit in Norcross, has established a Teen Parent Connection (TPC) program to help teenage parents with baby supplies and other needs at this time.
Director of the TPC program, Rochelle Grice, said the emphasis now is on assisting teenage parents with diapers, formula, and wipes and other immediate resources that may be in short supply. The program is looking for donations of such supplies from the community as well as monetary donations. Printing services can be used create Flyers and other materials to inform the community of such needs.
The organization focuses on providing life coaching services for its clients. The trained life coaches offer developmental screenings for children, parenting assessments, individualized parent education and information on life skills, and assists young parents in the foster care system. The organization ensures that both parents and their children have customized, comprehensive car and services. Both paid staff and volunteers assist teen parents.
Creative Community Services was founded by Sally Buchanan, Executive Director, in 1982 as an agency to help both adults and children with special needs. It has since expanded its services to include foster care and this program serving teenagers. Its reputation for the services it provides has grown such that it is considered one of the best such agencies in the state and across the country.
