Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, will be receiving a special award at the virtual Annual Conference and Expo of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) next month.
Announcements such as this one, often promoted with banner printing, help to promote a conference and the hosting organization.
The IISE is based in Norcross and will honor Cook with its Captains of Industry Award. The award is the highest honor of the Institute that is given only to leaders in government, industry, and business. Cook received a degree in industrial engineering from Auburn University and was a student member of the organization while he attended college.
CEO and Fellow of IISE, Don Greene, expressed the thrill of the organization to recognize Cook, a well-known business leader at the conference this year. Cook said he is honored to receive this award and added that he is looking forward to being able to join the many visionaries, leaders, and friends at the conference this year.
The conference will run from Saturday May 22 through Tuesday May 25. In addition to receiving his award during the conference, Cook will be hosting a Question-and-Answer session at a Captains of Industry Forum on Monday May 24 from 3:00 to 3:40 p.m. He will be joined by Annie Dorsey, president of the Auburn Student Chapter of IISE.
