Annual awards honor first responders

A presentation of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, the 2019 Valor Awards reception is taking place next month in Duluth.

These are public service awards that honor public safety professionals such as firefighters, police officers, and emergency medical technicians. There will be 11 awards presented during the event, which include three Medals of Valor (gold, silver, and bronze), three Public Safety awards (public safety person of the year, unit of the year, and public safety communications person of the year) and the Medal of Merit. In addition, a Purple Heart award is awarded as needed for someone who has been seriously injured or who died while on duty.

Sponsorships are available for $250 up to $3,000; sponsors will be recognized in the event program and will receive tickets to the awards.

This event, in addition to showing how much public safety professionals are appreciated, will be a good opportunity for business leaders to network with one another. No doubt most of them will be bringing along Business Cards they may have ordered from a Duluth printing company to exchange with their peers.

The Valor Awards reception will be held at the Infinite Energy Forum on March 26 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Tickets are $30 for public safety employees, $45 for Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce members, and $55 for non-members; tables of 10 are also available. Call April Perry at 770-232-3000 for more information.
