The Americover show will be held by the American First Day Cover Society (AFDCS) at the Hilton Atlanta Northeast, Peachtree Corners this month.
Residents of nearby Norcross who are experienced philatelists, as well as new collectors and non-collectors of Stamps, will want to attend this show.
‘Georgia on My Mind’ is the theme of the show, with a special cachet and cancel each day. The show cache was designed by Lloyd de Vries, president of the AFDCS. Dani Leviss, a youth fellow from the American Philatelic Society (APS), designed the show cancels.
Now in its 63rd year, the show many speakers and meetings, as well as 160 frames of exhibits, which will be judged by five accredited judges from the APS. In alignment with the theme of the show, these will be first day covers. There will also be a youth table and dealers offering covers, stamps, and other collectibles.
A sightseeing trip of Atlanta will take place before the opening of the show. Several special dinner events will also take place, including the president’s banquet, a buffet-style meal, and a dinner at the Crossing Steakhouse in Norcross.
The show is being held from August 3 through 5. Poster printing can be used to create awareness in the community about such special events and their availability to the entire community.
