Dutch Monkey Doughnuts, located in Cumming, is looking for a few people to chow down on pastries.
According to a recent news item, the company is providing its popular mini-cake doughnuts to four contestants, who will have seven minutes to gobble down as many of the goodies as they can. The winner will receive a trophy, a gift card, and his or her picture will grace the wall of the doughnut shop.
The contestants for this eat-a-thon are pre-selected, and only four adults, defined as people eighteen years of age and older, will be chosen to go up against Dennis To, the first runner-up last year.
Dutch Monkey has also not forgotten the children. It will have three children's divisions, for ages six and under, seven through ten, and eleven up to seventeen. The kids’ competition will be different, however, as it will be about eating one doughnut as fast as they can.
The competitions are set for July 4th, with the adults competing from 11.30am to 12.30pm, and the children's contest starting at 10.45am. It will be held outside Dutch Monkey Doughnuts, so participants are warned to dress accordingly.
Admission is free, but vendors will be in the area selling food and beverages, with all proceeds going to the Georgia Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Event organizers could work with a banner printing company to create colorful Signs to add to the fun.Get a Free Quote for Signs
