The Winter Park Fire-Rescue Department will offer a training course, Heartsaver First Aid CPR, in a few weeks.
While the course does not apply to basic life support (BLS) certification, it does offer several first aid tips along with the (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) CPR training.
The course will include several training components. Basic first aid will be covered, along with how to identify a true emergency. Learning who and how to call for assistance will be discussed, since performing lifesaving techniques can be instrumental in an emergency.
The American Heart Association provides guidelines for emergency cardiovascular care and these will be included in the course. The 2015 AHA/Red Cross Guidelines for First Aid is on the agenda as well.
Other topics to be discussed include injury emergencies, illness and injury prevention, and environmental crises.
Brochures are often designed and printed for comprehensive training courses. Within the brochure printing, the content can address topics to be discussed, location and contact information. The Brochures can be distributed in person at various points of interest or direct mailed.
Participation in the Heartsaver First Aid CPR Training class is $55 and will be held at the Winter Park-Fire Rescue Department. The address is 343 W. Canton Ave. Tickets for the class may be purchased through the venue website.
