The city of Winter Park is ready to kick off the holidays with two days of celebrations.
The first day will feature the 25th annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. There will be performances from children's choirs, refreshments, and children's activities. There is also set to be a showing of the movie ‘Jingle all the Way’ and, of course, Santa will make an appearance. Visitors can also drop off new, unwrapped toys to donate to Toys for Tots.
The next day ushers in the Christmas parade that will travel along Park Avenue from Cole to Comstock; this year's theme is "Ye Olde Hometown". More than 100 people are expected to take part in the parade, which includes Santa Claus himself.
To be held both before and after the parade is the 16th annual Leadership Winter Park pancake breakfast. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Winter Park Improvement Foundation. Guests are also encouraged to bring new school supplies for local elementary school students.
Winter Park parade participants might decide to invest in banner printing services to make themselves more visible to the crowds.
The Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place at Central Park on December 5, beginning at 5:15 pm. The parade is happening at 9:00 am on December 6, and the pancake breakfast will be held from 7:00 am - 10:30 am at the Central Park Stage.
