The Center for Health & Wellbeing in Winter Park will hold a class in December on how to make healthy desserts.
Cooking with Collette: Holiday Desserts is a program where people can learn how to create sweet dishes with healthy ingredients. Attendees can watch a live demonstration and taste samples of the finished desserts. The class will teach students how to make poached pears with whipped cream, a zucchini loaf, and chocolate hazelnut truffles. Each guest will leave the cooking course with a take-home booklet containing the recipes.
The presenter of the program is Collette Keller, an experienced teacher who graduated from the Culinary Institute of America. She worked as a private chef for a celebrity and started a meal delivery service called Collette’s Clean Eats. Keller also launched the Center for Health and Wellbeing’s Nourish Coffee Bar + Kitchen. She currently works at The Hale Kitchen, which is a business that prepares meals for postpartum mothers.
The holiday dessert class will be held on Monday, December 4th from 11:00am to 12:30pm. Those interested in the course can pay $30 to attend. All registrants must agree to the venue’s Waiver and Release to take part in the event. Health centers that offer lessons such as this may use poster printing to advertise their cooking courses to the community.
