The Track Shack will hold a festive 5K in Winter Park to celebrate Independence Day and raise money for its youth foundation.
The Watermelon 5K is a community event with many fun activities. Aside from the race, the program will include a watermelon eating contest and lawn games. Those who participate in the 5K will receive a commemorative mini towel, branded Apparel, and free watermelon. An awards presentation will take place after the Watermelon 5K is finished, and a randomly selected person from the military will be given a vacation from Rosen Hotels & Resorts.
The Track Shack is an organization formed in 1977 to produce running events that benefit local charities. The group created an official non-profit in 1994 known as the Track Shack Youth Foundation. The organization has raised over $2m for community programs. The money from the organization gets split between local schools, charities, and other running groups. People can help the company’s youth foundation by donating.
The themed 5K will be held from 6:45 am to 8:45 am. The cost to take part in the race is $43 per person, though discounts will be available for runners who register before the day of the event. Teens, children, seniors, and military personnel will also be given discounts for the race. Those who plan outdoor athletic activities like this may use banner printing to ensure the community is aware of their events.
