The Metropolitan Environmental Training Alliance (METRA) will be organizing an event in February at the Winter Park Events Center.
The 18th Annual Environmental Excellence Day is a program where people can learn about the services that help businesses stay compliant with environmental regulations. Several types of regulatory training will be discussed at the event, like storage tanks compliance, air quality regulations, and environmental social governance for corporations. Those who are professional engineers will earn five professional development hours for attending the event.
The keynote address for the program is titled Florida’s Springs and the Future of the Floridan Aquifer. The presenter of the keynote address is Dr. Robert Knight, an experienced environmental scientist who is the founder and current director of the Howard T. Odum Florida Springs Institute. He also founded the organization Wetland Solutions, which is a group that has worked on projects like Gainesville’s Sweetwater Wetlands Park. Knight has taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Florida.
The annual environmental excellence program will be held on Thursday, February 9th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Companies interested in sponsoring the event may pay between $250 and $1,000. Organizations that become sponsors will receive perks like having their brand’s Logo Design featured on the organizer’s website and speaking about themselves during the event. People may support METRA by donating online.
