Winter Park not so chilly thanks to chili

Even though winter in Florida is often not as bad as in the rest of the country, chili remains popular during the cold weather months, which is why the Rotary Club of Winter Park is holding its annual ‘Chili for Charity’ event in February and everyone will get to vote on the best one.

Chili for Charity will raise funds for the Rotary Club, which then passes on grants to over 30 local charities. In the past 20 years, the club has raised $640,000 for charity. The event will feature chefs from local restaurants and catering companies who will be competing for prizes, including the Peoples' Choice Award. In addition to chili, there will be live entertainment, refreshments, dessert, and a live auction – so plenty to warm the taste buds of those in attendance.

It is very likely that Winter Park businesses will be donating items to the live auction. They also might work with local printing companies by designing and printing Flyers to be distributed to its current customers. This will result in positive publicity for the company and might very well encourage more people to come out for this tasty event. Sponsorships from $150 to $2,500 are also available.

Chili for Charity will take place at the Winter Park Farmers' Market on February 20 from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm. Tickets are $25 each, $225 in advance for a table of 10, or $30 at the gate on the day.
