Kelly Morris Brown, a professional vocalist, is returning to Winter Park.

Brown will appear at the Winter Park Playhouse as part of the theater's Spotlight Cabaret Series, according to an article in Broadway World. She'll be premiering her solo cabaret performance, titled “Diary of a New York City Nanny,” during which she was musical theater and pop favorites to describe her amusing adventures as a nanny and actor in New York City. Christopher Leavy, the musical director of the Playhouse, will accompany her on the piano.

Kelly appeared at the Playhouse last year in “Showtune!,” a musical review featuring the words and music of prolific Broadway composer Jerry Herman. Among Herman's shows are “Hello, Dolly!”; “Mame” (which was the basis for the film “Auntie Mame” and several revivals); and La Cage aux Folles. Audiences who saw Kelly in this production were impressed with both her acting and singing.

Kelly Morris Brown appears at the Playhouse July 13 and 14, and tickets are likely to sell rapidly, so patrons are urged to order quickly. General admission is $20, with a one-drink minimum. When general admission sells out, a small number of tickets for standing room will be sold at $10. Doors open at 6.30 pm and the cabaret starts at 7.30 pm.
