David Cumbie from the Crealdé School of Art in Winter Park will be teaching a class on creating molds in May.
Crash Course in Sculpture: Mold Making is a program that provides students with a professional demonstration of various mold-making techniques. During the lesson, the instructor will show guests how to use materials such as low temperature wax, clay, alginate, and latex to create molds. Students do not need to bring anything to the course because it will only consist of the demonstration. Art studios that plan workshops like these can use poster printing to promote their lessons.
Cumbie is the Sculpture Studio Manager of the Crealdé School of Art and curator of the Contemporary Sculpture Garden. He has been a member of Central Florida’s art community for more than 40 years and has appeared in multiple art shows in Europe and the United States. He even participated in an international exhibition in Germany known as the Sculpture Mile. The garden Cumbie curates contains over 60 outdoor sculptures created by artists from Central Florida.
Crash Course in Sculpture: Mold Making will be held on Saturday, May 14 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The cost for students to take the course is $100 per person. The class will be held at the main campus of the Crealdé School of Art.
