The Crealdé School of Art in Winter Park will be holding a course in April to teach people about binding Books.
The Bookbinding Workshop is a program that provides students with step-by-step instructions for creating beautiful Books with decked edge pages and inside pockets. Silvana Martins will be the instructor for the workshop. She has 25 years of crafting experience and specializes in paper marbling. Martins is also knowledgeable about sewing, ceramics, and woodturning. She earned a degree in occupational therapy and is passionate about teaching others new ways of making art.
The Crealdé School of Art is a non-profit organization that began in 1975. The group’s mission is to inspire people to be creative and to gain a lifelong appreciation for art by offering hands-on educational experiences. The school offers more than 125 classes to the public, covering topics such as photography, sculptures, painting, and fiber arts. The Bookbinding Workshop will be held on Saturday, April 16 from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm at the main campus of the Crealdé School of Art. The fee to participate will be $125 per student. No bookbinding experience is needed to take the class, and all necessary materials for the course will be provided by the venue.
