Rollins College opening new bookstore

Rollins College, which is located in Winter Park, is taking over the space formerly occupied by Frank and Steins brewpub, which closed the location after about a year in business.

However, the college is not planning to sell beer, but Books. It is going to use the space, which comprises 5,022 square feet on West Fairbanks Avenue, as a bookstore, according to Lauren Bradley, spokeswoman for Rollins. The school will transform its old bookstore into an event space.

Bradley said that the school hopes to have the Rollins College Bookstore open by January 2017, in time for the beginning of the spring semester. The store will serve both the community and the students, and will be open to the public. Among other items, the store will have Rollins gear and themed clothing, which can be found in the current bookstore. An Einstein Bros. bagel shop will also be located on the property.

Rollins dates back to 1885, and is a four-year liberal arts coeducational institution recognized as the first college in the state of Florida. The college lies on Lake Virginia in Winter Park, and offers a 70-acre campus featuring Spanish-Mediterranean buildings. In 2015-2016, The Princeton Review named it the ‘No. 1 Most Beautiful College Campus’.
