The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce is hosting an annual tradition, just in time to welcome the holidays.
It will be the 68th time the Winter Park “Ye Olde Hometown” Christmas Parade has taking place, making it Central Florida's oldest continuous Christmas parade.
The route is also traditional, with the parade starting at Cole Avenue and proceeding south down Park Avenue, until it ends at Lyman Avenue. Although some details are still being finalized, a look at earlier years suggests what it to come.
In the past, over 80 organizations have taken part, including local officials and dignitaries, scout groups, fire departments, police departments, and marching bands. The guest of honor is, naturally, Santa Claus himself.
At the stage in Central Park, an annual Pancake Breakfasts is hosted by Leadership Winter Park. The meal starts before the parade, but continues during the event. Tickets include juice, milk, coffee, sausage, pancakes, and toppings, and the proceeds from the event go to support leadership development programs for both young people and adults.
The Winter Park Christmas Parade will be held December 5, from 9:00 am until 10:30 am. The Pancake Breakfast is from 7:00 am until 10:30 am. Banner printing can be used in several ways for this type of event, including marking start and end points, and creating seasonal decorations.
