The Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival is 60 years old this year, and to celebrate, the city is planning to host a ‘Spring Pops’ performance by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.
Eric Jacobsen, the orchestra’s music director, will conduct the concert, which includes popular songs by artists such as The Beatles and Neil Diamond, as well as some of Christina Courtin’s original songs.
Courtin is an American songwriter, violinist, and vocalist. Leah Flynn, a violin prodigy from the local area, is also scheduled to perform, and the program includes classics by Wagner and Rossini.
The orchestra is now 26 years old, is made up of musicians from throughout the world, and gives over 170 concerts each year. Its free community concerts, Notes in Your Neighborhood events, Symphony Storytime Series, and Young People’s Concerts reach over 70,000 families, young people, and children annually.
The Sidewalk Art Festival is one of the biggest, oldest, and most prestigious art festivals in the country. It was organized to bring art lovers together with local artists, and is produced entirely by volunteers. Over 350,000 people attend every year. Banner printing can be used to provide charming decorations for events such as this.
The pops concert is set for 3:00 pm on March 17, in Central Park. Admission to the concert is free, and everyone is welcome. Since the event is outside, attendees should bring either lawn chairs or blankets.
