The annual Bash for Books, a major fundraising event for the Winter Park Public Library, is taking place this September.
Each year, a different work of literature is chosen to be the theme of the event. Last year it was Alice in Wonderland, but this year it is Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island. Decor is set to include a 38-foot pirate ship, and attendees are encouraged to wear buccaneer-inspired attire.
Guests of the event will be treated to hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, wine, and beer. There will also be live musical performances and several fun auctions to bid on.
The Winter Park Public Library is important to a large number of residents of the city, and library staff will likely be letting their patrons know about this annual fundraiser. This may include having local Stationery printers create a flyer, which can be mailed out to those in the area who have library cards or have attended past events. They may also have special Posters made up to be displayed in the library itself.
The Bash for Books will be held at the Rachel D. Murrah Civic Center on September 27th from 7:00pm - 10:00pm. Tickets are $100 each.
