Earth Day to be celebrated in Winter Park

Winter Park will be welcoming the Ward and Wellbeing Earth Day Block Party next weekend.

The block party is presented by the Center for Health and Wellbeing, the Advisory Board of Keep Winter Park Beautiful & Sustainable (KWPB&S), and the Natural Resources and Sustainability Department of the city of Winter Park. It will start with the 32nd Run for the Trees 5K. Presented by the Center for Health and Wellbeing, this party is hosted by Track Shack and the city. Attendees are encouraged to bring their old running shoes for the run, which Track Shack will recycle as part of the Sneaker Seekers Program.

The block party will take place in Ward Park from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. This event will include presentations of awards, activities for kids, face painting, sustainable vendors, giveaways, a meet and greet with wild animals, and live music. Certified arborists from the Urban Forestry Division of the city will be on hand to answer questions and give away containerized Southern Magnolia trees in one-gallon buckets to those who participate in the run.

Just across the street, the Center for Health and Wellbeing will host family yoga, crystal sound bowl meditation, tours of the center, a microgreens growing kit workshop, and a pop-up shop.

Such unique and special events are often promoted throughout a city with poster printing.

This Earth Day Block Party will be held next Saturday, April 26.
