On July 13, officials from Wawa, with shovels in hand, broke ground on their first store in Palm Beach County to the delight of the chain’s local fans.
The site of the new Pennsylvania-based convenience store will be at the intersection of Australian Avenue and Belvedere Road in West Palm Beach. The site was chosen following extensive research on the county’s changing demographics and traffic patterns.
Chris Gheysens, president of Wawa, praised the location noting its visibility as a corridor for those travelling to and from the airport. The West Palm Beach store will officially be operational and ready to serve the public by spring of 2017.
Building excitement over the opening of a new business is often done with the aid of a banner printing service both to advertise what is being built as well as to announce the opening.
Wawa has developed a faithful following with much of its customer loyalty being attributed to its hoagies. The family-owned chain also sells a variety of fresh and built-to-order foods in addition to coffee, beverages and gas.
The company was started in 1964 and expanded through the northeast. In 2012 Wawa opened its first Florida store and is now looking to expand through Palm Beach County and Broward County with each county seeing five stores each opening next spring.
