The annual Ascension Awards, held by the Black Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County, will take place at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach later this month.
Excellence in Black business is celebrated by the Ascension Awards Program, which recognizes visionary leaders, outstanding businesses, and individuals who have attained the highest level of achievement in their chosen professions within Palm Beach County. Among the categories for the awards are non-profit of the year, distinguished Black business of the year, and young professional of the year.
Local Print shops often assist with promoting such special events and announcing award winners with Flyers and other printed materials.
The Black Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County hands out the awards and the Sophisticated Out Loud Event Planning Team organizes the event. The master of ceremonies is author and motivational speaker Chris B. Williams, and the keynoter speaker is master storyteller and author Andy Henriquez.
Joe Sanches, immediate past president and current member of the Chamber, said the goal of the Ascension Awards is to honor the best in the county. He added that the Chamber works to support businesses owned by Black people by ensuring they have the tools they need to be successful.
The awards ceremony will be on Saturday, February 22 with a reception at 6:00 pm and dinner and the program starting at 7:00 pm.
