The fifth annual Harmony: An Exhibition of the Arts will be presented by the West Palm Beach Arts and Entertainment District with support from the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority later this month.
Ballet Florida, the Dreyfoos School of the Arts Orchestra, and the Palm Beach Symphony will collaborate on this event at the waterfront with a special performance of over 75 distinguished performers. Local Print shops are often hired to create programs that can be distributed at such concerts with the line-up of performers.
The Palm Beach Symphony will present such selections as Copland’s “An Outdoor Overture,” Rossini’s “Overture to Barber of Seville,” and Bernstein’s “Overture to Candide.” The Symphony will be joined by Ballet Florida for the “Sabre Dance” by Khachaturian and the “Hungarian Dance” by Brahms.
Members of the Dreyfoos School of the Arts Orchestra will join the Symphony in the second half to perform many popular pieces and Broadway hits. The concert will end with Ballet Florida joining the musicians from Dreyfoos, and the Symphony performing two more well-known pieces by Copland.
Harmony will take place on Saturday, May 21, beginning at 4:00 pm at the Meyer Amphitheatre. The event is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic meal, a blanket, and enjoy an afternoon of outdoor music and dance.
