West Palm Beach to gain new golf course and lounge

Two projects are underway in West Palm Beach.

Print shops often get involved in creating Flyers and other materials to inform residents of such projects.

Currently under renovation is the Sunset Lounge. The building originally opened in 1926 and has been the host to legendary African American artists including Louis Armstrong, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, and Duke Ellington. The building is on Eighth Street and will have a rooftop patio and full-service restaurant.

The second floor will have a ballroom with an elevated stage and a mezzanine on the third floor. There will be large windows with views of downtown West Palm Beach. The east side of the complex will have a new building that will cover 7,200 square feet, be two stories high, and also have a rooftop patio with views of the city. The Sunset Lounger is expected to re-open late this year.

Construction is also underway on a new Golf Park in West Palm Beach. This is part of a collaboration between the city and a non-profit tied to the PGA of America to refurbish and operate the golf course, which spans 179 acres.

It will feature an 18-hole golf course with a Gil Hanse design, a short nine-hole golf course, two putting greens, a full short-game area, a clubhouse, and practice range. It will focus on junior golfers, high-quality golf experiences, and coaching at affordable rates.
