West Palm Beach holds public art exhibit

The third iteration of “The Commons” has been launched by ArtLife West Palm Beach, the public art program of the city. “The Commons” is an initiative to encourage artists in the area to bring their projects from the art studio to the public. The theme for this year’s temporary site-specific works is Endless Summer.

The artwork is at five different locations with free workshops offered by each artist. Poster printing can be used to promote such artwork and workshops.

The work of Mei O’Malley can be seen at the two elevators on the third floor of the library. O’Malley will be part of a Creating Characters Panel at the Mandel Fan Fest from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday May 24. On the fourth floor of the library are two pieces created by Quimetta Perle. Perle will be holding a fabric collage workshop for adults from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday November 8.

The work of Gregory Dirr is displayed in the courtyard outside City Hall. Dirr will be holding a Fantastical Sticker-Making workshop for teens from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 7. Allan Creary’s work is in the Urban Living Room of the library and his Pop Art Postcard workshop is open to people of all ages from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday August 9. The artwork of Milena Arango is at Jose Marti Park. Her introductory crochet workshop will be from 100 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday October 18.

The public can now view these pieces.
