While firefighters are best known for putting out flames, during an upcoming West Palm Beach contest, they will be doing their best to build the heat.
Chefs, fire departments, and others will be reaching for the spices and preparing their best efforts for the Clematis by Night Chili Cookoff. For $10, the public will have a chance to sample the different offerings, and then vote for their favorite. The winner will be declared to be the Palm Beach County Champion Chili. Personalized award certificates, trophies, T-Shirts, and other printed items for an event like this can be supplied by a company that provides printing services.
Along with the food, there will be other activities to take part in and enjoy. There will be live musical performances by Dylan Scott, with his opening act being the Ocoee River Band. A portion of the monies raised through the cookoff will be donated to the Children’s Home Society of Florida, which is a not-for-profit organization that helps abused and neglected kids and supports families throughout the state.
This celebration of chili will take place at 100 Clematis Street West on the evening of January 19. It will start at 6:00 pm and end at 9:00 pm, and more information about both the event and the musicians that will be performing can be found on West Palm Beach’s website.
