Affordable housing to come to West Palm Beach

Construction is underway in West Palm Beach in the Northwest neighborhood on The Grand. This will be a building eight stories high that will offer hundreds of below-market rental units.

The building, which is expected to cost $81 million, will have eight townhouses and 301 apartment units. Of those apartment units, 206 will be offered at below-market rates made possible by the workforce housing program in the city. Brochure printing is often used to provide more details about such units and their amenities. There will be commercial space on the ground floor.

The Grand will be within walking distance of dining, shopping, and entertainment venues in the city as well as the newest office complexes and the Tri-Rail and Brightline stations. The project was designed by MSA Architects of Miami. The developer is Affiliated Development based in Fort Lauderdale. The Community Development Department and the Community Redevelopment Agency of the city gave $15 million to the company to help finance the project.

Keith James, mayor of West Palm Beach, said that the investment which Affiliated Development is making in the historic Northwest community is the largest investment made by a single company in the history of the neighborhood and supports the efforts of the city to build stronger neighborhoods and connect residents with their home and jobs.

The Grand is expected to be completed in spring 2023.
