Tampa residents will see an annual tradition arrive for 2024 in early-to-mid-February.
The Florida State Fair (FSF) is an event that brings carnival rides, unique food, exhibits, entertainment, contests, and interactive experiences to the local community. The carnival runs for several weeks, with some entertainment acts only appearing for select dates.
Fair food is often a unique part of the experience. A few of the FSF offerings this year include lemonade, BBQ seasoning, and banana cream pie flavored funnel cakes (as well as one themed around “Barbie”); apple “fries” with peanut butter, caramel, and bacon; an Oreo flavored cinnamon roll; and an iced tea that tastes like strawberries and chocolate.
Exhibits and interactive displays highlight the history of agriculture, pioneers, and cattle ranching. There are also chalk art displays, farm and garden areas, and a place to learn about bees.
Entertainment includes acts with disciplines such as music, stunt performing, lumberjack skills, lawnmower racing, horseback riding, and firework displays.
Attendance fees are $6 to $27 from Monday to Thursday, and $11 to $42 Friday to Sunday. This includes armbands that allow unlimited rides. State and county fairs are often promoted by use of flyer printing.
Florida State Fairgrounds is open for the event from 11:00am to 9:00pm from Monday to Thursday, and 10:00am to 9:00pm Friday to Sunday. The dates are February 8 to 19.
