Mardi Gras is in full swing at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and will continue until early March.
This family-friendly celebration echoes the traditional event in the "Big Easy" with live music, beads, Cajun cuisine, themed entertainment and parades.
Food options include over 25 Classic News Orleans treats such as Purple Passion craft cocktails, hurricanes, beignets, po'boys and crawfish etouffee.
The Queen's Mardi Gras Jamboree Parade will be a festive live jazz rhythmic procession running on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the event. Dancers, stilt walkers, musicians, costumed krewe members and the park's Krewe de Four band will be marching through the Bird Gardens area. Guests may catch festive beads afterward. At selected times a bead balcony will be available for those wishing to catch beads from an elevated location.
Other activities will include thrill rides, animal habitats, and roller coasters. Zydeco, jazz and other carnival-inspired performances will be spread out throughout the day.
Admission to the Busch Gardens Mardi Gras will be the same as the regular park admission and the event will take place on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to park closing. Special 5-item sampler lanyards will also be available for purchase. These may be used for Cajun entrees, desserts, specialty cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages.
Stationery printers often use Mardi Gras pictures on their New Orleans Postcards and spring note cards sets.
