Tampa hosts 10th Riverfest

Friends of Tampa Riverwalk will be hosting its 10th Annual Tampa Riverfest in early May.

On Friday, May 1st, Curtis Hixon Park will feature Taste of the Riverwalk 2026. Tampa restaurants passing out samples of their specialties. Taste of Riverwalk 2026 will take place from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

The park will also have vendors, food and drinks available for purchase, food trucks, VIP tent on both days and Cowboy Mouth on Friday and Sixpence None the Richer on Saturday.

At sunset around 8:00 pm both nights, air balloon pilots will begin getting ready for the moon glows. This is when burners fire in synchronized pulses from the interiors of the balloon Envelopes causing downtown buildings and the river to light up in a neon-bright skyline.

On Saturday, from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, the annual TacoFest will feature taco variations running from seafood, and Asian-inspired to Latin fusions and Tex-Mex. Other activities in Hixon Park during that time frame will be the Wiener Dog Derby, concert series and a Kid Zone.

On Saturday, May 2nd parade participants will bring their decorated paper lanterns to Waterworks Park and step off at 8:30 pm heading for Curtis Hixon Park. The Riverfest Water Ski show, the annual paddle invasion, a Kid Zone, food trucks, live entertainment and lantern making workshop will take place before the parade.

Food trucks that vend at events like this often get their paper supplies printed with their logo designs at nearby Print shops.
