Tampa invited to MLK Gala

As part of this year's annual Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday commemoration, The Martin Luther King Parade Foundation, Inc. will be giving a black-tie gala in early January.

With the theme Courage is Contagious, the event will begin with a cocktail reception at 6:00 pm. This will be followed with dinner at 7:00 pm. Presentations will include recognition of four outstanding community members who inspires others to make positive change. These recipients will include Congresswoman Kathy Castor, Pastor Alan Harris, president of Children With A Vision, Inc. Tonya Lewis, and regional director of Florida Rising Tampa Bay Robin Lockett. Hillsborough County high school students will also receive educational scholarships during the evening.

Emcees will include ABC's Tampa Bay 28 Andrew Kinsey and renowned journalist Deiah Riley. Entertainment will be provided by jazz artist Nathan Mitchell.

Individual tickets for the gala will be $150. Free at Last $2000 sponsorships will include corporate tables for 10, digital logo displays and verbal recognition, half page ads in the event's souvenir book, company logos on the event's website plus one walker or vehicle space in the MLK parade. Other sponsorships at $4000, $6000, $8000, $10,000, $20,000 and $40,000 levels are also available.

Events that have souvenir programs for their guests often get them printed at local Print shops.

This year's MLK Black Tie Gala will take place Thursday, January 8th at Armature Works Gathering Room, 1910 N. Ola.
