Tampa supports charity at Pig Jig
Tampa's 14th annual Tampa Pig Jig will be returning in mid-October.
Local businesses and organizations will send teams of two to compete in the amateur BBQ completion. Winners will receive bragging rights and trophies.
Guests may stroll through the pit as the teams prepare their entries, but since this will be an amateur competition, no BBQ from the competitors will be available for sale. However, there will be plenty of professional food vendors selling BBQ.
The music lineup will include Megan Moroney, Matt Nathanson, Midland, George Pippen and Jamestown Revival.
General admission is $125 and includes live music, entry into food row, sponsor activations, cashless bars and merchant's tents. The Backyard Bash Experience tickets run $250 and include everything in the general admission tickets plus entry into the North Parking lot party, pop up experiences, air-conditioned tent, and BBQ samplings. For $550, the Milestone Supply Lounge tickets will include all the previously mentioned amenities and complimentary drinks, BBQ, tastings, activations, and front row seats to the stage.
Proceeds from the event will go to the HopeWill Foundation that supports NephCure, an organization serving families and individuals battling rare forms of kidney disease.
Charity events like this often get local print shops to create a graphic design to put on their event merchandise.
This year's Pig Jig will take place Saturday, October 18th from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, 1001 N. Boulevard.
