The Freedom 4 Miler Tampa will be happening at the end of June.
This will be a fundraiser to help U.S. fallen soldiers' families in the Believe With Me program. Participants are also asked to bring new unwrapped toys to donate as Christmas gifts to the 2,500 children served by the program.
Registration for the four-mile event will be $55, and swag will include chip timing, custom finisher medals, and short-sleeved shirts featuring the event's graphic design. Awards will go to winners in each of the age divisions, as well as overall and masters. This run begins at 8:15 am.
Each mile of the race will commemorate a local fallen hero, and props, food snacks, Signs, and music will spur the runners on. Fallen heroes' families will be at the finish line waiting to greet the racers. An afterparty will have free pancakes, the awards ceremony, and an auction.
Shirts and finisher medals will go to those who complete the non-competitive adult one-mile fun run, and also the Lil Patriot's 1 Mile for kids 12 and under. Both of these races will begin at 9:00 am. The 100-yard Tiny Cadet Cupcake Dash for youngsters five and under will begin at 9:15 am.
Freedom 4 Miler Tampa will take place Saturday, June 29 at Al Lopez Park, 4810 N Himes Avenue.
