Tampa technology company Cognizant, which is headquartered in Teaneck, New Jersey, plans to roughly double its operations in Tampa.
Cognizant will invest about $5.7m in the local economy, as well as adding 400 jobs, over the next four years.
Currently, the consulting and IT business has more than 900 employees in locations throughout the state of Florida, half of them in Tampa. The company employs nearly 200,000 people worldwide.
Job applicants will need to be highly skilled business and technology professionals. They will be working with companies in the insurance, healthcare, and financial services sectors, providing them with application maintenance and development, as well as business process services.
Information technology jobs are generally higher paying than other types of employment, and Tampa, which lies in the ‘High Tech Corridor’ that runs across the center of the state, boasts about 20% of all such positions in the state.
Cognizant received tax incentives to expand its Tampa operations, but the exact terms are still confidential. Earlier this year, however, officials in Hillsborough County approved incentives to an unidentified information technology company if it would create as many as 412 better-paying jobs.
Cognizant might want to consider working with a business card printing company to create attractive, professional Business Cards for its new employees. Digital Business Cards could be printed in small amounts as the new hires come aboard.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards
