Tampa celebrates 4th with parade

Tampa will celebrate our nation's Independence Day with activities, a boat parade, and fireworks.

The largest Tampa 4th of July celebration will take place at Tampa's Boom by the Bay at Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, 1001 N. Boulevard. If anything like last year it will have family-friendly activities, apple pie bake-off, pickleball tournament, food, free concert, shows, kids' games and of course pyrotechnics at dusk around 9:00 pm.

Friends of the Riverwalk will also bring back their traditional July 4th Boat Parade and Blessing of the Fleet. After water ski shows at The Point and Sparkman Wharf, the boat procession will begin in the Convention Center basin and continue to the Heights ending at Sparkman Wharf. The Blessing of the Fleet for prosperity and safety will be at a station located on the wharf.

Over at Armature Works, 1910 N Ola Avenue, The Heights District Fourth of July Celebration, if anything like last year, will feature a Kids' Zone, EDM and country artists performing on the main stage, and a Hot Dog Eating Competition. The Boat Parade will turn around there, and fireworks will be at dusk.

Vendors will be selling summer treats and Independence Day novelties, and many that participate in events like this usually get red, white, and blue banner printing done beforehand to attract business.

These events will be July 4th, free and open to everyone.
