Tampa celebrates 4th with annual boat parade

Friends of Tampa River Walk will be celebrating July 4th with its annual July 4th Boat Parade.

Using the same parade route as for the holiday light boat parade, the route for both the small boats (beginning at 6:00 pm) and big boats (beginning at 6:30 pm) will begin at the lighthouse. The small boats will turnaround at the Convention Center and join the returning large boat parade.

The large boats will also head along the same waterway, but they will go passed the Convention Center and turnaround at Water Works Park. They will meet the small boats back at the Convention Center, and the combined parade will pass the lighthouse and turn north ending at the Sparkman Warf around 7:30 pm.

The public may view the parade for free on designated paths along the route. VIP options will be available for $125 at Jackson's Bistro Waterfront Room and Splitsville.

Boat owners that enter crafts in parades like this occasionally go to nearby printing services and get a little red, white and blue banner printing done to add Banners to their 4th of July boat adornments.

There will be two water ski shows - one at Sparkman Wharf at 6:45 pm and the other will be a 7:30 pm at Jackson's. Fireworks will take place at 9:00 pm at Sparkman Wharf.

The July 4th Boat Parade will take place July 4th on the waterways around Downtown Tampa.
