Italian festival celebrates 21 years in Tampa

The Festa Italiana weekend festival is soon to take place in the Tampa region. Celebrating the rich culture and Italian heritage, the Italian Club has presented the event for 21 years.

Beginning in 1998 with a small gathering of locals, the festival has seen substantial growth and has become one of the favorite events in Tampa attracting thousands of attendees.

The Italian Club has been in Tampa Bay for over a century. Founded by a small group, the club’s purpose was to overcome challenges posed to immigrants from Italy at the turn-of-the-century.

Award-winning singer, Lena Prima, will perform opening night at The Italian Club. She is the daughter of legendary Louis Prima. The Italian Heritage Day kicks off the next day.

Producing an event of this type is a huge undertaking that depends on a team of volunteers and organizers. Local businesses and sponsors support the festival each year. Local printing services often help festivals like this with services such as graphic design, banner printing, and Promotional Products.

Agenda items for the weekend include a homemade vino competition and the annual bocce tournament. Applications are available online for these activities. The Italian Club cooking tent and a grape stomp is also part of the fun line-up. Winefest will take place on Sunday which includes a wine tasting festival.

The event takes place April 5-7. Admission is free. More information can be found on the event website.
