Group of artists to perform in Tampa

Several bands/performers in the R&B genre of music will be coming together for a show in Tampa in mid-December.

One of the headliners is Xscape – a group of female singers. Members include Tamika and LaTocha Scott, Tameka Cottle, and Kandi Burruss. The band only three records together before splitting up, and each one was certified platinum. They reunited in 2017. A few of their hits are “Is My Living In Vain,” “Feels So Good,” “One Of Those Love Songs,” “Understanding,” and “Just Kickin’ It.”

Bell Biv DeVoe is a band consisting of Mike Bivins, Ricky Bell, and Ron/Ronnie DeVoe. The three men were previously members of the group New Edition. As BBD, the artists blend together hip-hop and R&B to create a unique sound. In 2021, the group was awarded the year’s Trailblazer Honoree position in the 10th Annual Legendary Awards, a ceremony held by the Atlanta City Council, to celebrate their part in contributing to the arts. A few of the tracks under their belts include “Poison,” “Incredible,” “Lost in the Moment,” “Run,” “I Ain’t Going Nowhere,” and “In My Crib.”

The Tampa R&B Music Experience will be held at the Amalie Arena. Tickets, which can be bought through Ticketmaster, range in price from $65 to $175. Additional acts include Ginuwine, 112, H-Town, Next, and Tamar Braxton. Merchandise displaying the Logo Design of the performing acts is often sold at similar events. The show is scheduled to kick off at 8:00pm, with the date being set for December 17.
