Wildflower Garden hosts opening ceremony

The West Oaks Wildflower Garden in Florida will host its grand opening this October.

There will be a walkthrough garden as the theme for the ceremony. The garden will have a StoryWalk – an idea first trademarked and used by Anne Ferguson from Vermont, and grown by the Kellogg-Hubbard library.

It allows attendees to read the pages of a storybook one at a time, as they enjoy the ambience of nature. This wildflower walk will feature native Florida wildflowers such as butterfly milkweed, partridge pea and wild pennyroyal on display.

A setting for both book and nature lovers, the aim of this event is to cultivate an appreciation for nature among attendants. Organizers also hope to raise awareness among those present about the importance of pollinators and horticulturists.

The event is put on by the West Oaks Branch Library and Genealogy Center, in partnership with the Department of State's Library and Information Services division. Materials are sponsored by the Florida Wildflower Foundation.

For events such as these, organizers often use brochure printing for engagement with their attendees, as well as businesses that may take part in the event.

The event will be held on Saturday, October 9, beginning at 10:00 am and ending at noon, at the West Oaks Branch Library. It is located at 1821 E Silver Star Rd, Ocoee, Florida 34761.
