Fleet Farming will hold a lecture at the West Oaks Library in Ocoee that teaches people about farming in the fall.
Fall Gardening in Florida is a program where attendees can learn gardening tips from the professionals at Fleet Farming. Many topics will be covered at the event, such as what seeds to plant, sustainable gardening practices, and tips for attracting pollinators. Guests will also learn about fruits and vegetables that can grow in Florida. The presenters will even go over how to water plants and check the health of a garden’s soil.
Fleet Farming is a program created by IDEAS For Us that helps turn underused lawns into edible landscapes and sustainable gardens. The organization works on locations like residential lawns, school grounds, and community centers. People can join Fleet Farming on Swarm Rides that take participants on bike rides between plots maintained by the group. The organization also hosts monthly plant sales and educational classes. There are also internships offered by Fleet Farming.
The presentation on fall gardening will be held on Friday, October 2 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. There is no price to attend the lecture from Fleet Farming. Seating is limited, so guests should register in advance. The event will take place in the library’s Sarchet Community Room. Groups that hold seasonal educational workshops like this may use poster printing to share details about their lessons with more consumers.
