Teen Police Academy to be held in July
The Ocoee Police Department will hold a Teen Police Academy in July and is currently accepting applications. This event is held yearly and provides information to teenagers about various topics related to law enforcement.
Print shops in the area provide printing services to many businesses and organizations. One of the frequently used services businesses and organizations take advantage of is poster printing. The City of Ocoee displays a colorful poster that advertises this event and provides detailed information on registration and course content.
During the course, teenagers will learn about the many initiatives undertaken by the Ocoee Police Department, including informative sessions on the police helicopter (CHASE), criminal investigation, police equipment, crime scene investigation, and K-9 Units.
Teens must be between the ages of 13-18 and will need to obtain their own transportation to and from the academy. Registration is available on the City of Ocoee website where those wishing to participate can find details on eligibility requirements. Registration also includes the option to ask any questions about the academy.
Applications will be accepted for teens who do not reside in Ocoee, but the name of a sponsor or business is required to be entered during the registration process.
The Teen Police Academy will be held from Monday, July 29 through Friday, August 2. Teens will meet at the High Point church at 476 Ocoee Commerce Parkway from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
