What's Happening in Ocoee, FL…

RusTeak Restaurant moving to new location

RusTeak Restaurant and Wine Bar announced recently they will be moving to a new custom-built location in Ocoee.

Billed as a “polished-casual” restaurant, RusTeak has a variety of comfort foods, wines and cocktails. Owners Brian Buttner and Jonathan Canonaco attended culinary school in New York and opened their first restaurant, Teak Neighborhood Grill, in the Orlando area in 2010.

The current Ocoee restaurant, which is their second, opened in 2012 and is in a 2,500 square foot leased space. They doubled the size of that location and opened a third RusTeak restaurant in College Park. The owners closed the original location in 2014. The proprietors also own two other restaurants, the Stubborn Mule and Menagerie Eatery & Bar which are both located in Orlando’s downtown area.

The new location is approximately one mile from the current site. When restaurants move locations, they often put up ‘We Have Moved’ posters, change up the menu items and sometimes offer promotional products for grand openings. Establishments can work with print shops to obtain new menus and banner printing services which can help draw in customers.

The new building will be two stories high and will be 15,000 square feet in size allowing the owners to customize to their specifications. The new location is expected to have an outdoor space, complete with a small pond, where customers can relax while they are waiting for a table to clear. There are also plans for a rooftop bar.

The new restaurant, which is expected to open at the end of 2020, will be located at 11077 Roberson Road.
