Ocoee to feel the love of National Siblings Day
The 24 Second Embrace will take place on National Siblings Day this year, with Ocoee among the sites for the performance.
This is an award-winning project by Brian Feldman, who will hug Adrienne McIntosh, his sister, for precisely 24 seconds in 24 different cities, all in one day.
The 24 Embrace Trilogy is finally reaching its conclusion following Feldman’s 2015 project, in which he hugged his mother for a full 24 minutes on Mother’s Day in Philadelphia, Orlando, and Washington D.C. He continued this project from the one in 2011, where he hugged his father for 24 hours on Father’s Day, with a boxing ring being the unusual venue.
This artistic performance among the two siblings will include Ocoee and every city in the Osceola, Seminole, and Orange counties, from Altamonte to Winter Springs. They will embrace in each city for exactly 24 seconds to honor the relationships between siblings on National Siblings Day.
As this holiday is not officially recognized like Mother’s or Father’s Day, the Siblings Day Foundation is determined to change that, starting in Florida. It has invited the public to watch the demonstration and give the performers a hug before they depart.
Attendees should keep an eye out for the two huggers on April 10 from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm. Brochure printing is one way to notify the public of events in performing arts if they live in a populated area.
