What's Happening in Ocoee, FL…

Ocoee to celebrate Hispanic culture next month

The Human Relations Diversity Board is presenting its 5th annual Fiesta de Colores this September. The event is held in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

The festival will feature lots of family friendly activities and, of course, there will be lots of Latin food to sample. Visitors will enjoy games and prizes, piƱatas, train rides, puppet shows, live music, and salsa dancing all day long. There will be bounce houses and face painting for the children, and the police department will be holding a PC Cruiser demonstration. People attending are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets to the event.

Vendors representing local businesses and community groups will also be on hand. Those who wish to apply need only pay a $10 processing fee and an optional $25 fee to participate. Organizers are still looking for artists, non-profits, restaurants, and other businesses to sign up; the deadline is September 5th.

There are also sponsorships from $1,000 to $2,000; sponsors will have their logo printed on flyers, in the event program, and the higher levels will be recognized on the event stage.

It's likely that any flyers that will be printed to advertise this popular Ocoee event will be obtained from local printing companies.

The Fiesta de Colores takes place in Bill Breeze Park on September 27th from 11:30am to 4:30pm, and admission is free. For more information, call 407-905-3100.
