Ocoee hosts Santa-themed event this holiday

The city of Ocoee, Florida will host a Santa-themed float ride event beginning this November.

The event, titled 'Operation Santa', is put on by Ocoee’s Fire Department. Its aim is to spread Christmas joy among the children of the city. Organizers intend to distribute candy to children along their stops.

This event is also carried out in support of another charitable cause. Residents are encouraged to make toy donations in support of the ride. All proceeds will be given to the Ocoee Police Department’s Holiday Toys for Kids in Need drive.

Operation Santa will call in at several locations during a scheduled ride through the city. They have several days lined up and locations include Lake Olympia, Lakeview, Brentwood Heights, Richfield, Reserve, and Johio Bay. The event is scheduled for November 30, as well as December 2, 7, 9, 14, and 16. There are several locations for each day, and a full list of locations for each day is available on the city's website. For November 30, December 9, and December 16, the float ride begins at 5:30 pm and ends at 9:00 pm. For all other days, it ends half an hour earlier.
