Ocoee hosts diversity board meeting
The City of Ocoee Human Relations Diversity Board will host its board meeting this September for members. The meeting will also offer residents the opportunity to become members of the board.
The Board aims to promote goodwill, understanding and equality among citizens and businesses in Ocoee. It holds meetings monthly to facilitate open communication among these sectors.
To be eligible for membership, interested parties must either be residents of Ocoee, or owners of real property in the City. The Board also offers membership to those who own businesses in Ocoee.
The Board consists of 7-13 members, and each role comes with one vote. There are also two non-voting positions granted to members, one of whom is normally assigned to a City Hall staff member. The other position functions as an elected official role. Each seat on the board serves for a period of three years.
The agenda for the meeting will be available before the meeting on the City's website. The minutes are also available after the meeting. The minutes will be granted through approval only.
For events such as these, committees often use print shops for engagement with their members, or with businesses.
Next month's meeting will be held September 2nd at the Commission Chambers of Ocoee City Hall, located at 150 North Lakeshore Drive Ocoee, FL 34761. The meeting begins at 6.15 pm.
